Pisang Coklat (Chocolate BaNaNa)

Banana, cut into stick like form
Wonton skin
Chocolate powder or sparkling
Cooking oil

1. wrap the banana stick and the chocolate with wonton skin
2. fried the wraped banana until well cooked (the color is goldie brown)

You can put cheese on it if you like it.

Pisang Goreng (Fried BaNaNa)

4 bananas cut into 12 pieces

Smearing ingredients :
100 gr of rice powder
300 gr of all pupose flour
¼ teaspoon of vanilla powder
½ teaspoon of salt
500cc water
Cooking oil

1. mix all the smearing ingredients until it make a fine dough
2. dip in the bananas into the dough
3. deep fried the dough smeared bananas until the color turn into goldie brown

Rujak (Fruit Salad with Sambal)

1 pineapple fruit
2 mangoes fruit
4 rose-apple fruit
1 watermelon fruit
2 cucumber fruit
1 papaya

Refined ingredients (sambal) :
1 teaspoon of tamarind
4 tablespoon of fried peanuts
500 gr of palm sugar
5 pcs of small chilli
5 tablespoon of water

1. unskin the fruit with thick skin and cut into pieces
2. grind the fried peanuts, small chilli, tamarind and add water, after those ingredients well grinded put in the palm sugar and grind once more until well mixed.
3. ready to serve, fruits eaten with first dip into the sambal.

Almost all the kind of fruits are edible with the sambal, so eat your favorite fruit with this sambal.

Ayam Goreng Bumbu Kuning

1 kg of chicken
500 cc of water
Cooking oil

Grind ingridients :
10 cloves of garlic
8 pcs candlenut
5 cm of roasted Turmeric
4 cm of ginger
4 cm alpine galanga
1 stalk of serai/sereh (sorry i didnt get the translation)
4 sheet of orange leaf (usually we use the lime leaf)
1 tablespoon of coriander
½ tablespoon of pepper powder
¼ teaspoon of nutmeg powder

1. Prepare the chicken, clean and cut it into desired pieces
2. Put the chicken inside a big bowl and smeared it with all the grind ingredients, until it’s well mixed. Leave it for 2 hours, until all the ingredients is absorbed (best to keep it inside the refrigerator)
3. After 2 hours, boiled the chicken along with the ingredients and add 500cc of water. Stir well and wait until the chicken is well-done
4. Deep fried the chicken one by one, unti the colour is goldie brown
5. Ready to serve

Ikan kembung cabe ijo (Fish cooked with green chilli)

2 kembung fish (sorry i didnt get the translation)

Ingridients to flavouring the fish :
1 pcs lime
3 cloves of Garlic
½ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of pepper

Ingridients of the sauce :
10 pcs grinded red pepper
10 pcs grinded green chilli
1 pcs tomato fine chopped
4 cloves of garlic fine chopped
6 cloves of shallot fine chopped
1 cm of ginger fine chopped
1 cm of alpine galanga
1 sheet of laurellike
2 table spoon of palm sugar
½ teaspoon of salt
1 cup of water
Cooking oil


preparing the fish :
- clean the fish from its innards then smear it with fresh juice from the lime leave it about 10-15 minute until the odor of the fish disappear
- grind the garlic salt and pepper then smear it to the fish and leave it again about 10-15 minute, then fry ‘em untill well cooked

preparing the sauce
- saute the garlic and the shallot until softened
- put in the grind red pepper, green chilli, tomato, ginger, alpine galanga, laurellike and palm sugar stir until mixed well
- pour in the water and the salt, stir well until the water is boilled

put the fried fish into the sauce, stir it until the fish mix with the sauce
serve with hot white rice

Sambal kecap (chili sauce with soy bean ketchup)

5 pcs red pepper minced fine
5 pcs small chilli minced fine
1 pcs tomato cut into little dice’s
2 table spoon of soy bean ketchup
1 table spoon fresh juice of lemon or lime


1. Just put all those thing into a bowl stir until mixed well
2. Sambal kecap usually eaten as a sauce for seafood cuisine such as fried fish, roast fish, or any other fried, roasted or grilled seafood. This sambal is also can be the sauce for fried tofu.

Sambal terasi (Shrimp paste chili sauce)

10 pcs Red pepper
5 pcs small Chilli
1 small cut (1 cm squre cut) of Shrimp paste
1 pcs Tomato cut into 2 pcs
Salt sufficiently
Sugar sufficiently (palm sugar are better)
3 tablespoon of cooking oil

1. Fry red pepper, chilli, tomato, and the shrimp paste until softened but be carefull not to overcooked
2. Put in to the ulekan (tool made from stone used to grind) or a blender the cooked red pepper, chilli, tomato and the shrimp paste with the salt and sugar. Blend all those thing.
3. Sambal usually eaten as a sauce with fried tempe, fried chicken, fried fish or in fact in almost javanese food.

Tumis Kangkung (sauteed kangkung)

Ingredients :
1 bunch of kangkung cut only the leaf’s
4 cloves of shallot
3 cloves of garlic
2 pcs of red pepper
½ teaspoon dried little shrimps (ebi)
Salt sufficiently
Sugar sufficiently
Cooking oil

1. mince shallot, garlic and red pepper
2. fry minced shallot, garlic, ebi and red pepper with 2 tablespoon of cooking oil and pour the salt and sugar until softened
3. put in the kangkung and cook until softened
4. served with white rice and fried tempe

Sayur Bayam (Spinach Soup)

Ingredients :
1 bunch of Spinach
2 ears of corn, cut as desired
6 cloves of shallot
2 sheets of laurellike
500ml of water
Salt sufficiently
Sugar sufficiently

1. Fine minced the shallot
2. Boiled the water in a pan, pour in the shallot and laurellike
3. Add the corn inside, after 15 minutes put the spinach
4. Add some salt and sugar, stir well until the soup cooked

Tempe Goreng (Fried Tempe)

Ingredients :
500 ounce of tempe
4 clove of Garlic
200ml of water
Salt sufficiently
Vegetable oil

1. Cut tempe into desired pieces (usually a square cut about 10cmx10cm)
2. Grind garlic with salt, then add some water. Stir well
3. Soak tempe inside the mixture for about 15-30minutes
4. After the ingredients absorbed well inside tempe, deep fried tempe in a hot pan untill the colour changed to goldie brown
5. Ready to serve

BAKWAN

Ingredients :

1 teaspoon of fine pepper and 4 clove of garlic, grind
500gr whole-wheat flour
200~400ml of water
100gr of chopped cabage
100gr of chopped carrots
100gr of bean sprouts
100gr of chopped shrimp
Salt sufficiently
Sugar sufficiently
Cooking oil

1.Place a big bowl, and put in grind ingredients along with the whole-wheat
2.Stir it while pouring some water until you get a fine dough
3.Then mix the dough together with all the shrimp and vegetable, add a little bit of salt and sugar
4.deep fry little by little, each with a doze of 1 tablespoon

Telur Orak-arik (Spicy Scramble Eggs)

Ingredients :

2 eggs, scramble it
100 gr of cabage, fine chopped
Salt sufficiently
Sugar sufficiently
Cooking oil

Refined Ingredients :
- 6 clove of shallot
- 3 clove of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of pepper powder
Add some small chili if desired

1. Mix and grind the shallot, garlic, chili, and pepper

2. Cook in a saucepan with a little bit of cooking oil, add some salt and sugar

3.Put the chopped cabage in together with fried ingrerdients, stir it until softened
Then put the scrambled eggs in, stir it until well cooked

4. Best to serve it with hot cooked rice
